Editorial Reviews:

It?s easy to see why there was so much fighting amongst the console manufacturers to try and make this game a format exclusive. Where early launch titles may have disappointed this game not only looks like a next generation game but it plays like it too. Taken at face value the story casts you as an Arabic fighter in 1191, out to assassinate the nine Western leaders of the Third Crusade. There is more to the story than that though making it more than simple historical adventure it first seems.

Since it?s developed by many of the same team behind Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, it?s no surprise to find the game using many of the same ideas. With the bold claim that you can climb on or over anything in the game world that sticks out more than two inches, this allows incredible freedom of movement, with a style of acrobatics heavily influenced by Parkour/free running. The game also innovates in terms of combat, with each of the face buttons controlling a different area of the body, rather like a marionette. As such one button controls the feet, one your open hand, one your weapon hand and the other your head.

As an assassin stealth plays an important role in the game too, but here it?s often a case of hiding in plain sight as you mill around inside large crowds of people. Everyone will react to you realistically though, so if you go around pushing people out of the way, or even killing them, the crowd will react and report you. With stunning graphics and genuinely innovative gameplay this is destined to be one of the most important releases of the year.

Not bad but could of been better 3 out of 5 stars.
you play a character called Altair who was a master assassin, striped of his rank and stabbed for his betrayl for exposing the secretive guild to the english army shortly after its defeat, you awaken from inside a machine called the animus which activates certain genetic memories that has been repressed over the years and makes you live what your ancestors did and saw, you real character was an assassin but left and became a bar worker, you have been kidnapped for information on several devices that have been spread over the world that contains information critical to another guild. soon enough you kill 9 people that in our real world died of unknown causes in the holy land some thousand or so years ago. you also see betrayl from 2 characters both in real world and in the memories afterwards.

the storyline aside, the 2 stars for fun is the repetitive nature of the game, it's always collect information before killing the person in question who are some how affiliated with the other guild. killing guards, helping citizens for help later on after your assassination attempt. which is always the same motto throughout the game, until the last few you have to kill, but basically having to kill someone or something before the boss person. climbing up buildings to get a view of the area your in, in question and your not allowed to explore certain places until you completed your mission. their are a few bugs of note which you will encounter including one in acre near the docks where you need an overview, there is a hay bail below, but strangely that tower jump was not configured properly and you will land next to it on the floor next the hay bail and dead, for an example.

the overall game got 3 stars, the graphics aside it's not worth your time and patience and money. your better off playing the old thief games, 1 and 2 as they provide better for assassination attempts from around the same era with exception to the strange magically lights and lamps throughout the city.

Slashfest 5 out of 5 stars.
Absolutely topnotch fun, gotta love the fighting animation and the beautiful panoramic views. Runs great on 4870X2 everything full res and settings.

the end was kinda sudden.. didnt want it to finish, but one ill play again in the future without any aggro from DRM limited activations...

Thanks for a great game Ubi, EA should pay attention when their shares plummet from their evil DRM.

Hard to say wether I'd Buy this a second time 2 out of 5 stars.
Graphics: stunning!
Sound: immersing!
Action, Acrobatics, Reaction of the Environment and the NPCs: So good, it could make a grown man weep...

Um
Story: well, yes, there is one.

OK, I'll be honest, I expected something different. The stealth and subtlety was blatantly lacking. Yes, you can blend. yes, you can crouch. But not in broad blazing sunshine!

The plot leaves a lot to be desired, but apart from that, our Hero leaves such a very gory trail of corpses, it hard to imagine how he could not be known over the four corners of his world. Yes, I do realize that this is an assassin. But he ignores his own concept of Integrity and murders people left and right.
All in all, I miss the Man who said "The soldier in front of me is not the enemy. He's just a man who does his job and wants to get home to his wife."

The boredom factor 2 out of 5 stars.
I fully agree with a previous reviewer. The game get harder as you progress. Lot's of annoying impediments to your main task. But is it perhaps the boredom factor creeping in. It seem's to throw everything at you in the first 2 missions and then it's the same again, but more frustrating. Unlike games like MoH, CoD, NOLF, etc where each episode is in a different environment AC puts you in exactly the same environment with identical NPC's, and identical tasks.

Buy it cheap and be prepared for only a limited amount of enjoyment.

Graphically it is excellent. But the gameplay is really repetitve.

This is awsome!!!! Only one problem.... 3 out of 5 stars.
This is an awsome game but the only thing wrong was it needs really high spec, i bought it thinking it would be awsome as i just bought a new laptop, i installed if takes a long long time and the gamplay is extremely slow, all because of my new laptops spec!!!

If you have the right specs for this game buy it, if you have already bought it you can play it better with a smaller screen res. To do this you go into settings in the game..

Have fun!!
